Pucara Alpaca Stud

Silverstream Alpaca Stud is delighted to be associated with Pucara Alpaca Stud, a prominent alpaca breeder from Victoria, Australia. From humble beginnings, just five animals in 1991, Alan Cousill and Jude Anderson now own or manage 560 alpacas including one of the largest herds of suri alpacas in Australia.

Alan Cousill sat on the AAA (Australian Alpaca Association) national committee for three years and has been involved with committees for marketing, showing and import screening. He is a well known lecturer on alpaca marketing throughout Australia and spends a large part of his time in the USA with Mike Safley of Northwest Alpacas marketing and selling alpacas.

Jude Anderson is an accredited Australian alpaca judge and served on the board of the Australian Alpaca Cooperative for 4 years including secretary for 3 year. The Australian Alpaca Cooperative operates their own alpaca fiber mill and markets high end alpaca products. She is a certified wool classer having trained at the Gordon Institute of TAFE. Jude judges shows throughout Australia and North America.

Silverstream Alpaca Stud visited several alpaca farms in Australia before selecting animals from Pucara for export to New Zealand. Al and Jude's vast experience, backup, no-pressure approach, flexibility, fairness and excellent selection of animals coupled with their great sense of humour, made our purchase an effortless affair.
